In the Citizens and Schools project, the Stiftung is concerned with the position of pupils and parents in the sphere of education. Society currently attaches great importance to the issue of education – and this will grow in the future. We support all efforts to strengthen the network of active parents and give it greater visibility.

We believe that this issue is not the sole preserve of Government; it is also of direct concern to us as citizens. That is why we are – in cooperation with partners including the Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists (VBKI), the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband (German Social Welfare Federation) and the Bürgerstiftung Berlin (Citizens Foundation Berlin) – exploring the possibility of independent, citizen-run schools.
